About

At Francie & Finch, we bring the world of books to Lincoln

Lincoln is a growing, vibrant city. And as Lincoln’s newest bookstore, our unique inventory reflects both the local and international communities that call Lincoln home. Whether you are searching for a novel by a Nebraska author or you want to explore Lincoln’s diverse population through literature, we can help you find exactly what you are looking for!

Located in the heart of downtown Lincoln at 130 S. 13th, we are just a short story away from campus and hundreds of local businesses.

Our vision is for Francie & Finch to be a treasure to Lincoln:

  • Stop by to browse for a new book
  • Peruse the new displays on First Fridays or before Husker home games.
  • Find that perfect gift for someone
  • Be inspired by stunning artwork from national and Nebraska artists
  • Make an author reading and book signing a part of a night out
  • Discover your book club’s next selection
  • Visit with Francie & Finch staff about what you like to read
  • Experience all the treasures and surprises in our store—every piece of décor tells a story!

Want something we don’t have in stock? Place a special order with us—we can have it delivered faster than the peregrine falcons at the Capitol!

Lincoln resident Leslie Huerta is the driving force behind Francie & Finch. Her passion for reading, literacy, and the stories that connect us touches every aspect of the bookstore. She named it after Francie Nolan of A Tree Grows in Brooklyn and Scout Finch of to Kill a Mockingbirdboth strong-willed and independent girls, both voracious readers. Their stories have resonated with Leslie all her life, and now she is passing that love of books on to Lincoln.

Leslie and her friendly staff are waiting to help you answer the question: Who are your Francie and Finch?

“I had a very strong first impression of Francie & Finch as I came up to this store. As I looked at the black metal sign attached to a historical building that was constructed in the1800s, my impression took root. The entrance was bordered on each side by classic window displays…”

“From that time on, the world was hers for the reading. She would never be lonely again, never miss the lack of intimate friends. Books became her friends and there was one for every mood…On the day when she first knew she could read, she made a vow to read one book a day as long as she lived.”

– A Tree Grows in Brooklyn

“Until I feared I would lose it, I never loved to read. One does not love breathing.”
